ABOUT JESICA

 

Jesica is an experienced strategic communications professional working with government agencies, non-profits and public sector companies. She attended the University of South Carolina where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications and a Masters of Public Administration.

 

She started her professional career in Columbia working with Palmetto Parent magazine and the SC Governor’s School of Science and Mathematics Foundation, then moved to the LowCountry to lead the communication and economic development efforts for the City of Goose Creek. Her combined policy and communications experience led her to a global engineering firm as a communication consultant advising public and private sector clients in North and South Carolina on communications strategies for large, complex infrastructure projects. Jesica moved back to Columbia in 2016, and currently serves as a Vice President with NP Strategy.

 

Jesica is passionate about giving back and volunteering in her community and currently serves on the boards of South Carolina First Steps, EdVenture Children's Museum and the Columbia Museum of Art. Previous volunteer and board service include: Emerge South Carolina, Mental Illness Recovery Center, Inc., United Way of the Midlands, and Women in Transportation Seminar (WTS) – South Carolina Chapter.

 

Jesica is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a graduate of the South Carolina Economic Development Institute, Leadership Columbia and has been honored by Columbia Business Monthly as a Best and Brightest 35 and Under.

 

She and her husband Joseph have two children, Olivia and William.

I’m raising my family in District 9 and I’m committed to providing the representation we need. My background has prepared me to hit the ground running with an understanding of the issues, and the experience to make a difference.
